EmptyThere was a slew of cable renewals Wednesday as TV Land, E! Entertainment and horse-racing net TVG all made announcements about returning series.
TV Land is bringing back "High School Reunion" for a second season, reuniting alumni as they gather after 20 years for an exotic two-week vacation. "Reunion," from Warner Horizon Television, will debut its second season in first-quarter 2009.
In addition, show creator Mike Fleiss is set to return as executive producer with Andrew Hoegl and Jonathan Singer.
"Reunion" has been averaging 767,000 total viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research. The fourth episode, which aired March 27, scored a series high with 797,000 total viewers.
Meanwhile, E! has greenlighted a second season of the reality series "Sunset Tan" to debut in the summer. The show follows the staff of a chain of tanning salons in Los Angeles, with Season 2 featuring the launch party of a Vegas location, the staff heading into the country for a weekend of ranching and the ousted duo known as the "Olly Girls" looking for new jobs outside the tanning industry.
"Sunset Tan" is an original E! Studios production in conjunction with Intuitive Entertainment. Mechelle Collins, Kevin Dill and Jay James are executive producers.
In addition, TVG, owned by Gemstar-TV Guide, has renewed "Lady Luck" for a third season. The show, which explores horse racing from a woman's perspective, debuted the first of 10 new episodes Wednesday night.
