NBC may have won the 2014-15 broadcast season for the second year in a row, but ratings are not as black and white as they used to be. The network's triumph over CBS among adults 18-to-49 was incremental. And a deep dive reveals it was not a season for growth. Only ABC improved its lot, and among series, CBS' Mom was almost alone in its gains. A look at the numbers also reveals how much worse off Fox would have been without Empire, the CW show that was the lowest-rated series to score a renewal and that jokes about Shonda Rhimes keeping the lights on at ABC are no laughing matter.
