Twins-Tigers draws big numbers

Becomes most-watched tie-breaker in 11 years

Tuesday night's 12-inning showdown between the Minnesota Twins and Detroit Tigers became the most-watched baseball tie-breaker game in 11 years.

TBS' coverage of the American League Central tiebreaker, won by the Twins, drew 6.5 million viewers, the largest audience for a tiebreaker game since 1998. It also marked a 57% increase over last year's clincher between the Twins and Chicago White Sox.

The Tigers-Twins matchup also drew the most viewers for a regular-season game on broadcast or cable this season.

The Twins advanced to face the AL East champion New York Yankees.
