As CFO, the incoming executive, Anthony Noto, was paid $72.8 million.

Twitter paid CEO Richard Costolo a mere $175,399 in 2014 — a raise over the $130,250 he made the year prior, but way down from the $11.5 million in compensation that he earned in 2012, the year before the social-network company went public.

Costolo also owns 8 million shares of Twitter, including stock options, which at Monday's close were worth more than $411 million.

The real action in 2014, though, was with the CFO, where the incoming executive, Anthony Noto, was paid $72.8 million, while the former CFO, Mike Gupta, was paid $263,234, down from $24.7 million a year earlier.

Noto was hired on June 30 and was given $63.1 million in stock awards, according to a regulatory filing on Monday, where compensation for top executives was disclosed.

Alex Roetter, senior vp engineering, made $19.1 million; Kevin Weil, senior vp product, was paid $13 million; and Vijaya Gadde, general counsel, made $7.9 million, down from $15.1 million in 2013.
