Twitter Promotes Katie Jacobs Stanton to Global Media Chief
Katie Stanton, previously Twitter's vp international market development, replaces Chloe Sladden, who recently left the post.
Twitter has moved longtime executive Katie Jacobs Stanton into a new role as global media chief, following the June departure of North American media head Chloe Sladden, THR has confirmed.
This marks a consolidation of Stanton's previous role as vp international market development and the post Sladden recently vacated. Stanton will report to Gabriel Stricker, Twitter's head of marketing, PR and global media.
The move puts Stanton in charge of Twitter's relationships with the television, sports and music industries. Sladden paved the way for many of the company's ventures in this space, striking deals with networks and studios. Stanton, meanwhile, joined Twitter in 2010 and has led the company's partnerships with international media companies, including BBC and Agence France Press. She also sits on the board of Vivendi.
Stanton, fittingly, has already updated her Twitter profile to reflect the job change.
