Two 'Hills' offshoots start slowly

Not all the fans of "The Hills" appear ready to move to "The City."

The premiere of the "Hills" spinoff, which follows Whitney Port as she relocates to New York to take on a new job, averaged 1.6 million total viewers at 10 p.m. Monday.

That's a drop-off from the Season 4 finale of "Hills," which averaged 2.6 million viewers in the time slot the previous week. (Both the "Hills" finale and "City" premiere aired during holiday weeks.)

However, "City" was able to build significantly on its lead-in, the premiere of reality competition series "Bromance," starring "Hills" staple Brody Jenner. That show averaged 963,000 viewers at 9 p.m. (partialdiff)
