Two join wives' club with Lifetime, TBS

Sherry Stringfield, Essence Atkins land cable roles

Sherry Stringfield has been tapped to star opposite Eric McCormack on Lifetime's original movie based on the true story of the con artist known as Clark Rockefeller, and Essence Atkins has landed the female lead opposite Terry Crews on TBS' upcoming comedy series "Are We There Yet?"

Claiming to be an heir to the famous Rockefeller dynasty, the German-born con (McCormack), born Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter, became a fixture in Boston high society and eventually married Sandra Boss (Stringfield), a millionaire with a Harvard MBA and a partner at the prestigious business consulting firm McKinsey & Co.

After losing custody of their daughter during the divorce, Rockefeller kidnapped the girl during a supervised visit in July 2008. The abduction and Rockefeller's apprehension after the safe retrieval of his daughter drew nationwide attention and led to the discovery of his real identity.

Mikael Salomon is directing the Sony TV-produced film from a script by Edithe Swensen.

"Are We There Yet?" -- based on the 2005 feature starring Ice Cube -- centers on newly married Nick Persons (Crews) and Suzanne Kingston (Atkins) who move into a new home with Suzanne's two children.

Atkins ("Half & Half") is repped by Fortitude and Kathleen McComb.
