Lesley Ann Warren and Meredith Baxter have been tapped to star in the Hallmark Channel original telefilm "The Glass Seagull."

The tentatively titled telefilm, set to premiere in spring 2009, tells the story of two lifelong friends struggling with the news that one has cancer. They also are faced with making a decision over whether to tell the child that one friend (Baxter) raised as her own in an idyllic small town is really the daughter of the other (Warren), a Broadway star.

David Cass Sr. is directing the movie, which recently entered production, from a script by Darrell V. Orme Mann. Larry Levinson, Randy Pope, Dan Gross and Michael Moran are executive producing, while Lincoln Lageson and Traceigh Scottell are producing.

Warren next co-stars in the USA Network series "In Plain Sight," which premieres June 1. She recently appeared in ABC's "Desperate Housewives," NBC's "Will & Grace" and the film "10th & Wolf."

Baxter recently recurred on CBS' "Cold Case" and guest-starred on ABC's "What About Brian" and "Brothers & Sisters."
