The band will take to the EMAs stage for the fourth time this Sunday in Glasgow

U2 has joined the lineup of performers at the MTV EMAs in Glasgow on Sunday night, organizers said Friday.

It will be the band's fourth appearance on the MTV EMA stage after Rotterdam in 1997, Stockholm in 2000 and Berlin in 2009. The band performed "Pop Muzik/Mofo" in Rotterdam, "Beautiful Day" in Stockholm and "One/Magnificent" and "Sunday Bloody Sunday" with Jay Z in Berlin.

Nicki Minaj is set to host the MTV EMAs. Previously announced performers include Enrique Iglesias, Ariana Grande, Ed Sheeran, Calvin Harris and Minaj. British rock legend Ozzy Osbourne will be honored with the Global Icon Award.

Last year's show took place in Amsterdam. Performers included Miley Cyrus, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars and Eminem, with Redfoo serving as the host.

MTV previously unveiled a new, socially focused award category for the MTV EMAs: Best Song With a Message. It said the honor was designed to recognize songs that are having "an empowering impact on young people, tackling important issues they care about and inspiring them to have a social conscience."
