UFC makes digital debut on MTS

TORONTO -- Manitoba phone giant MTS has added Ultimate Fighting Championship pay-per-view events to its digital TV offering.

The first live UFC event will be the "UFC 83: Serra vs. St-Pierre 2" fight from Montreal, offered to subscribers for CAN$44.95 ($44.55).

In February, MTS TV added HBO boxing events to its PPV schedule, which includes TV wrestling extravaganzas and Edmonton Oilers and Calgary Flames NHL games.

Also getting into the TV fight game, newly launched premium pay TV channel Super Channel has pacted with London-based Hennessy Sports to air the Junior Witter-Timothy Bradley WBC world light welterweight title boxing match on May 10 from Nottingham, England.
