Andrew Scott, Jessica Brown Findlay and Tom Wilkinson are among the cast for the drama being backed by rum heiress Monika Bacardi.

Having first taken shape in 2010 with Carey Mulligan lined up to take the lead, only to be resurrected a year later with the likes of Felicity Jones, Rhys Ifans and Rupert Friend attached, it looks like it could be third time lucky for This Beautiful Fantastic, the British fairytale that made a 2009 entry on The Brit List, the U.K.’s own version of The Black List.

Announced on Monday, Andrea Iervolino and rum heiress Monika Bacardi’s Ambi Pictures has teamed with Christine Alderson’s Ipso Facto production banner to finance and produce the drama, which will be directed by Simon Aboud from his own script.

Andrew Scott, famed for playing Sherlock’s nemesis Moriarty in the BBC series and soon to be seen in Spectre, will star alongside Jessica Brown Findlay, who rose to fame in Downton Abbey. Two-time Oscar nominee Tom Wilkinson (Michael Clayton), Jeremy Irvine (War Horse), Anna Chancellor (Four Weddings and a Funeral) and Sheila Hancock (The Boy in the Striped Pajamas) are also among the cast, with production due to begin this week in London.

The story revolves around an unlikely friendship between a reclusive woman and a cantankerous widower, set in a garden in the heart of the English capital.

This Beautiful Fantastic has been an epic journey from its first appearance high on the Brit List,” said Aboud. “It’s a wonderful quintessentially British film full of quirky characters all fighting to live life their own way in a homogenous world, which is strangely very much like the script’s own journey to principal photography. In Ambi we have found the perfect partners who shared our vision.”

AMBI will oversee global distribution of the film through its international sales division, AMBI Distribution.
