U.K. TV Channels Planning Robin Williams Tribute Screenings

'Hook' (1991)

Williams played Peter Pan in Steven Spielberg's adventure film, co-starring Julia RobertsDustin Hoffman and Bob Hoskins. The film earned five Academy Award nominations. 

BBC One, Channel 4, Film4, Sky 1 and Sky Movies will air films starring the late actor in the coming days

As tributes from around the world continue to pour in following the death of Robin Williams, several UK TV channels announced Tuesday that they had rearranged their schedules in order to fit in special screenings of films starring the late actor and comedian.

BBC One revealed in a tweet that it would be screening Good Will Hunting on Thursday at 10:30 p.m. GMT.

Fellow U.K. terrestrial broadcaster Channel 4 will air Good Morning, Vietnam this Sunday at 12:05 a.m. GMT, while its movie arm Film4 is planning a Robin Williams double bill from 1 p.m. GMT on Saturday, Aug. 23 with Toys and Night At The Museum 2.

The Rupert Murdoch majority-owned digital channel Sky 1 said it would be screening Jumanji this evening at 8 p.m. GMT, followed by Awakening at 10 p.m. Its premium sister channel Sky Movies is going a step further with a Robin Williams marathon starting 5 p.m. GMT Saturday featuring Aladdin, Jumanji, Mrs Doubtfire, Hook and Dead Poets Society.
