U.K. TV Production Banner Pulse Hires Development Chief
Producers of Take That and Blur documentaries hire former ITV Studios exec Danny Carvalho.
LONDON – U.K. production banner Pulse has hired Danny Carvalho as head of development for its television division, home to T4’s branded content hit series Live and Lost with Blackberry and Professor Green Unseen.
Carvalho joins from ITV Studios and is tasked with developing formats across the factual entertainment, entertainment, reality and documentary genres as well as creating shows with a greater integration across TV, music, film and commercials.
He reports to Pulse TV chief Jilly Pearce.
Pearce described Pulse as being at “a key stage of growth – both in the U.K. and internationally – and we are delighted to bring such strong talent on board to help drive the company forward in this next phase.”
During his tenure at ITV Studios, Carvalho was responsible for creating formats in various genres including international hit Four Weddings (Living) and quiz show The Chase (ITV1).
Other Pulse output includes the ITV-aired show Look Back, Don’t Stare in 2010 which followed pop hitmakers Take That’s reunion with Robbie Williams and the GRAMMY-nominated Blur documentary No Distance Left To Run which aired on the BBC.
