U.K.'s Power plugs into home entertainment

LONDON -- U.K. high-end drama producer Power said Tuesday that it would launch its own global home entertainment division, appointing industry veteran Andy Schreiber to head the unit on the back of DVD success of its recent feature release "Flood."

Power, creator of "The Virgin Queen" and "Henry VIII," sold 150,000 DVD units in the U.K. via its deal with Lionsgate Home Entertainment and aims to seek distribution in multiple territories under its own home entertainment banner.

Schreiber, founder and president of distribution specialist Forward Marketing International, will relocate to London from Los Angeles to take the new post as senior vp of Power Home Entertainment.

"Andy offers both the experience and the vision necessary to oversee the launch of a new Power brand in a rapidly evolving area of our business," Power president of worldwide sales Chris Philip said.
