Umbria opens Montone to Loach

ROME -- Celebrated British director Ken Loach will be given the keys to the town of Montone at the 11th annual Umbria Film Festival, the event's organizers said Wednesday.

Loach will attend the July 4-8 festival to introduce a screening of his war drama "The Wind That Shakes the Barley," winner of the Palme d'Or at the 2006 Festival de Cannes.

Loach will be joined at the festival by Terry Gilliam, who earned an Oscar nomination for writing 1985's cult classic "Brazil." Gilliam's presence was previously announced after he designed the festival's official logo.
