'Uncle Drew' Trailer: NBA Stars Play Senior Citizens Looking to Win Harlem Tournament

Kyrie Irving, Shaquille O'Neal, Lisa Leslie and other basketball players appear in the Summit film.

The NBA is coming to the big screen as teased in the first look for Summit Entertainment’s upcoming comedy Uncle Drew.

In the film, Dax (Get Out star Lil Rel Howrey) struggles financially after entering a team in the Rucker Classic street ball tournament in Harlem. After draining his life savings, Dax enlists the help of basketball legend Uncle Drew (NBA All-Star Kyrie Irving, aged by makeup) and urges him to return to the court once again to win the coveted championship.

Though willing to join the tournament, Irving’s Uncle Drew has one condition: “It’s gotta be my team. My roster."

Soon, Uncle Drew embarks on a road trip to enlist the help of his former basketball squad (O’Neal, Leslie, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller and Nate Robinson, all also made to look geriatric). The team of senior citizens is determined to prove that age is merely a number when it comes to winning trophies.

“You don’t stop playing because you’re getting old. You’re old because you stop playing,” Uncle Drew informs Dax, as his team is determined to win the tournament.

Comedians Tiffany Haddish and Nick Kroll also star in the film, inspired by a fan-favorite digital episodic series, originally created by Pepsi. Charles Stone III will direct the film with Wyck Godfrey and Marty Bowen producing. Jay Longino will serve as the film's screenplay writer.

Uncle Drew is set to hit theaters June 29.
