Universal appoints top overseas bean counter

Rowan Conn appointed CFO for two divisions

LONDON -- Rowan Conn has been appointed chief bean counter at both Universal Pictures International Entertainment (UPIE) and Universal Pictures International (UPI) in a newly combined role for Universal's overseas operation.

Conn takes up the reigns as chief financial officer, effective from Jan. 1, Universal said in a statement Monday.

Based in London, Conn will report to UPIE president Eddie Cunningham as well as to UPI president David Kosse.

Conn was previously CFO of Universal Pictures International reporting to Kosse, with oversight solely of the theatrical group.

The new role was created as a result of the impending departure of Pancho Perez after 18 months as CFO of UPIE.
