Universal taps Tracy Falco

'Lions for Lambs' producer becomes exec vp production

NEW YORK -- Universal has named producer Tracy Falco exec vp production, reporting to production topper Donna Langley.

Falco ("Rounders," "Blow") most recently served as a producer on "Lions for Lambs." That film was released by United Artists, where Falco has had a first-look deal.

Executives describe Falco's new role at Uni as identifying talent and development projects as well as overseeing relationships throughout the production process.

Universal has had an exec vp slot open since earlier this year, when Holly Bario left to join Stacey Snider at DreamWorks.

Falco was an exec at Andell Entertainment, which is behind upcoming Uni thriller "State of Play." She also served as a vp at Ted Demme's Spanky Prods.

Among the projects she has been developing as a producer are a new Matthew Michael Carnahan film for Mandate and a Jackie Robinson movie set to star Robert Redford.
