Universal TV Alternative Studio Ups Monica Rodman
The longtime 'Celebrity Apprentice' producer and recent Universal Television exec will lead development for the in-house reality studio.
Universal TV Alternative Studio, having just committed to several new series for corporate sibling NBC, is promoting from within — bringing up Universal Television's Monica Rodman as its new svp of development.
Rodman comes to the new gig with three years at Universal Television, where she previously served as vice president of development.
“Monica’s expertise in the alternative space has played a huge part in the exciting growth and success the studio is currently experiencing,” said alternative studio president Meredith Ahr. “She has incredible instincts, is thoughtful and collaborative, and is exceptionally well-positioned to lead our producing partners through new challenges as the studio continues to expand.”
While with Universal Television, Rodman played a vital role in the development of Jennifer Lopez's World of Dance, Dwayne Johnson's upcoming The Titan Games and Nick Offerman and Amy Poehler's summer craft competition Making It.
Prior to her time at Universal Television, she served as a veteran producer — working on The Celebrity Apprentice, Fashion Star and Judge Judy.
