USA rewards exec for scripted originals

Jackie de Crinis, who has been senior vp original scripted series programming at USA Network for eight years, has been upped to executive vp original scripted programming.

De Crinis (formerly Jackie Lyons) has played a key role in the development team at USA, which ranks as the most-watched cable network. After joining USA in 2000, she was instrumental in bringing "Monk" from ABC, where she supervised the project's original development. She also supervised the development of USA's most recent hit, "In Plain Sight," and is overseeing the upcoming series "The Starter Wife." Her team also managed "Law & Order: Criminal Intent's" move from corporate sibling NBC to USA in October.

USA is in the midst of shooting the 90-minute pilot "Royal Pains," starring Mark Feuerstein as an on-call doctor for the rich denizens of the Hamptons; de Crinis said executives are encouraged by the dailies they've seen so far. The network also is continuing to cast another 90-minute pilot, "White Collar," which centers on a con artist (Matthew Bomer) who against his will partners with the head of the FBI's white-collar crime unit.

Although USA is eyeing another series launch in summer, de Crinis said: "That's not written in stone by any means. We could basically have originals on all year round now." (partialdiff)
