Founder Obi Asika will continue as co-head of the UK-based music talent agency with a talent roster that includes Alesso and Bugzy Malone.

UTA has acquired the U.K.-based Echo Location Talent Agency.

Terms of the takeover deal were not disclosed, but company founder Obi Asika will continue as co-head of the London-based music talent agency alongside Neil Warnock as UTA grows its global music footprint. The acquisition brings on board Echo’s top artists across electronic and hip-hop music, including Alesso, Bugzy Malone, Chase & Status, Davido, Diplo, Galantis, Gorgon City, Giggs, Hannah Wants and Wizkid.

“Obi and his team have built an impressive business and have done excellent work taking their artists to the next level,” UTA CEO Jeremy Zimmer said in a statement. Asika will report to UTA co-heads of worldwide music Samantha Kirby Yoh and David Zedeck.

Echo’s Obi Asika in his own statement said UTA had prevailed among the many suitors that knocked at his door over the years as they eyed buying a talent agency with a focus on Afrobeats, grime, drill, hip-hop and electronic music.

“Jeremy, Sam, David, and Neil have shown strong and thoughtful leadership as they have built out the music division and the company’s global influence. I am so proud of what the team at Echo has achieved and I am fired up as to what we can all accomplish together," he said.

Senior agent Belinda Law and fellow agents including Myles Jessop, Tom Jones, Jack Clark, Hannah Shogbola, Kazia Davy and Ishsha Bourguet will join Asika at UTA.
