UTA promotes pair to partner

TV lit specialists bumped up after agency turnover

Veteran UTA television literary agents Dan Erlij and Larry Salz have been promoted to partners of the agency.

The duo join existing UTA television partners Peter Benedek, Sue Naegle, Matt Rice, Jay Sures and Michael Camacho, who recently joined UTA as a partner and head of alternative television. Erlij and Salz will become the 17th and 18th partners at the agency.

"Larry and Dan's instincts for identifying truly gifted artists, their ability to build exceptional careers for clients, and their great taste in material have been enormous assets to the agency," the 16 UTA partners said.

Erlij joined UTA in 1996 as part of the agency's agent training program. He was promoted to agent in the TV lit department in 1998.

Before that, Erlij practiced law for several years as a litigator at the Herzfeld & Rubin in New York.

Salz joined UTA's agent training program right out of college. He was promoted to agent in the TV lit department in 1996.

There has been a lot of UTA-related agent traffic during the past month.

Two weeks ago, UTA partner Marc Korman moved to Endeavor to become a partner in the agency's television lit department. Last weekend, UTA partners Nick Stevens, Lisa Hallerman and Sharon Sheinwold also left to join Endeavor.
