Val Boreland Promoted to Senior Vice President at Comedy Central

Boreland will continue to oversee the network's programming and promotion scheduling.

Val Boreland has been promoted to senior vice president, programming, promotion and multiplatform strategy at Comedy Central, the network announced Monday.

"Val is the lynchpin of our 360 degree approach to programming the network," said David Bernath, executive vice president, program strategy and multiplatform programming. "Off-net platforms and on-air strategies have to work seamlessly to maximize ratings – and she makes it happen."

Boreland is based in the New York City office, and will continue to oversee Comedy Central's programming group, including program and promotion scheduling. She'll also manage the network's content across all digital platforms, including VOD and wireless.

Before joining the network in 2004, Boreland was vice president, scheduling, planning and acquisitions at Lifetime Television. She started out there in the sales department in 1994 before moving to the programming department the following year.
