He is the second person at the agency to work his way up from intern.

Verve has promoted a new agent within its ranks, The Hollywood Reporter has exclusively learned. Chase Northington expands the number of reps at the fast-rising boutique talent and lit firm to 16. As a television lit agent, Northington works with writers including Under the Dome’s Scott Gold, Skiptrace’s Jay Longino and playwrights Daniel Talbott and Jeffrey Baker.

Northington is unique for being the second Verve agent to get his start as an intern at the company, following Parker Davis, whose elevation in the features department came in October 2014. And like fellow TV lit agent Chris Noriega, a former account executive at Washington Mutual, Northington also enjoyed a previous life in a different field, working as a commercial real estate broker in Texas before moving to Los Angeles to start his entertainment career as a Verve intern in February 2013. The Austin native, who studied advertising at the University of Texas, was hired four months later as a full-time assistant under partners Adam Levine and Amy Retzinger and became a coordinator in the television department in November 2014.
