Veteran sound man Beau Biggert dies

Did mixing for 'Valley Girl,' 'Scream' and 'Dexter'

Beau Biggert, a leading sound, music and ADR mixer in Hollywood for more than two decades, died Feb. 9 of brain cancer at his father's home in Ventura, Calif. He was 48.

Biggert began in the industry working for his dad, Bob, at Biggert Production Services. He later worked at Goldwyn, Universal, Technicolor and Echo Sound.

The younger Biggert mixed on films including "Valley Girl" (1983), "Bird on a Wire" (1990) and "Scream" (1996) and such TV series as "Quantum Leap," "Murder, She Wrote," "JAG," "Sleeper Cell" and "Dexter."

A memorial service will take place at 11 a.m. on Feb. 26 at Marina Park in Ventura.
