Featured creators at the in-person event will include Brent Rivera, Spencer X and MeganPlays.

After taking a year off due to the coronavirus pandemic, VidCon will return with an in-person gathering at the Anaheim Convention Center this fall.

The annual online video event will take place Oct. 21 through 24, with attendance from top creators including Spencer X, Brent Rivera, Molly Burke, MeganPlays and Alex Wassabi.

"We are so excited to bring our flagship event back to Anaheim this fall after such an unprecedented time for the world," said VidCon general manager Jim Louderback. "While it might look a little different this year, we can't wait to see our fans in person — along with bringing the magic of VidCon to our global audience through our new hybrid digital experience."

Last year, with coronavirus cases still high across the country, ViacomCBS-owned VidCon opted to cancel its in person event, which typically takes place during the summer. Instead, event organizers began offering year-round virtual programming dubbed VidCon Now.

VidCon will keep some of the virtual element when it returns in person later this year. In addition to offering tickets for the Anaheim gathering, it will also sell digital tickets for fans to experience the event live and on demand from their homes.

"We loved staying connected to our fans last year through VidCon Now’s virtual programming and will build on that in 2021," said Louderback. "But in-person experiences are the core of who we are, and we can’t wait to see everyone in real life in Anaheim this October."

Veteran video creators John Green and Hank Green launched VidCon in 2010 to connect creators with fans. Since then, the event has grown into a fan gathering and industry convention. VidCon now hosts events around the world, including in Mexico City, Singapore, Australia and London. Tickets for VidCon will go on sale this summer.
