Jamie Foxx, Quvenzhane Wallis Talk Hair, Scams and Batman in New 'Annie' Trailer (Video)

The latest trailer features fewer song-and-dance moments and more punchlines, as Foxx compares himself to the superhero and disses an all-too-friendly Cameron Diaz.

A new trailer for Will Gluck's re-imagining of Annie was released on Thursday, and it's a hairy matter.

First revealed on Good Morning America, the trailer features fewer song-and-dance moments than the previously released one, and focuses more on the jokes instead. It opens on a soaring Jamie Foxx, who plays wealthy businessman and mayoral candidate Benjamin Stacks (an update on the Oliver "Daddy" Warbucks character). "I love this city -- the harder I work, the more opportunities I can get. No matter who you are or what you are, you just gotta want it bad enough," he says. "This city needs me," to which Rose Byrne humorously responds, "Alright, take it easy, Batman."

As in the first official trailer, Annie (Beasts of the Southern Wild's Quvenzhane Wallis) has a chance encounter with Benjamin when he saves her from getting hit by a van -- "like Batman," he notes -- but more of Wallis' title character is included, as she is concerned more about how her hair looks than the fact that she's just a tool in his campaign strategy. Cameron Diaz, as the mean-spirited orphanage owner Miss Hannigan, also makes fun of Annie's voluminous 'do, while Benjamin himself has his own hair-related problems.

But he does know how to handle a suddenly all-too-friendly Miss Hannigan, whom he tells when she approaches his car window, "I'm not looking for temporary companionship. God has a path for us all -- your path should be away from the car."

Bobby Cannavale also co-stars in the modern update, produced by Jay Z and Will Smith and set for theaters on Dec. 19. Watch the latest trailer above:
