“Sometimes you wear a dress, and it’s all about the dress and you lose the actor. And I don’t feel like that when I’m wearing his dresses,” says Bejo of why she loves wearing Saab’s gowns. They were photographed by Jonathan de Villiers on Sept. 4 at the Elie Saab Showroom in Paris.

"The personality and the charisma of the woman must come first," says the French designer

Berenice Bejo is incredibly thankful for her relationship with designer Elie Saab, whom she knows she can count on, especially when she is in a pinch.

"I know I can call from one day to the other day and say I have an event, and I know that I will have a dress," she says.

Bejo wore a sea foam green Saab gown to the 2012 Oscars, where she was nominated for best supporting actress for her role in The Artist

"I have a mind to always present the woman, not to present my dress," explains Saab. "The personality and the charisma of the woman must come first."
