Trailer for Brittany Murphy's Final Movie 'Something Wicked' Debuts (Video)

The psychological thriller was directed by Darin Scott and filmed in 2009, six months before the actress died that December.

Over five years after her death, Brittany Murphy's final film, Something Wicked, will hit theaters next week, and the trailer was released on Monday.

Opening with a limited released on April 4 at the Regal Cinemas in Eugene, Oregon (Valley River Center Stadium 15), with plans to expand to 19 other theaters throughout the month, the film is a psychological thriller directed by Darin Scott and starring One Tree Hill's Shantel VanSanten.

It was shot from April to June 2009, prior to Murphy's death the following December at the age of 32 from pneumonia, anemia and cardiac arrest.

The story follows a young couple embarking upon their wedding plans, when gruesome secrets from their past collide with the sinister forces of the present.

Murphy plays the role of a psychiatrist named Susan, and in the 2-minute-32-second trailer she appears in a number of intense scenes as her character observes the deteriorating relationship between a newlywed couple (VanSanten and John Robinson) who survived a traumatic car crash. 

Sinister forces take control, leading the characters into madness and Murphy to proclaim: "There is evil in this house I saw it with my own eyes."

Something Wicked was written by Joe Colleran and also stars Julian Morris, James Patrick Stuart, Robert Blanche and Joe Feeney
