Fourth of July: 'Pitch Perfect 2' Stars Perform 'America the Beautiful' (Video)

Director Elizabeth Banks uploaded a video to YouTube in which Skylar Astin and Ben Platt sing an a cappella version of the patriotic tune.

The stars of Pitch Perfect hope you're having a nice Fourth of July holiday.

Elizabeth Banks — who is directing the sequel to 2012's surprise hit — has uploaded a video to YouTube and her Facebook page in which returning stars Skylar Astin and Ben Platt sing an a cappella version of "America the Beautiful."

The two actors appear in what looks like The Treblemakers' signature costume — a dark red velvet blazer — with an American flag as a backdrop.

"Happy (early) 4th of July from the set of Pitch Perfect 2!" Banks wrote.

The first movie, about a cappella singing teams in college, became a surprise success upon its release in September 2012, earning $65 million at the box office.

Banks appeared in and produced the first movie; she also is set to appear in the sequel, alongside returning castmembers Astin, Platt, Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp and Rebel Wilson and newcomers Hailee Steinfeld and Katey Sagal.

The sequel is set to hit theaters May 15, 2015.
