VIDEO: Lou Reed Directs Susan Boyle's 'Perfect Day' Video

As if Susan Boyle's career couldn't get any weirder, now comes word -- and a fully-realized, YouTube-ready clip -- that Lou Reed has directed the video for her cover of "Perfect Day," the 1972 classic he wrote and allegedly objected to Boyle singing on America's Got Talent earlier this year. (Reed later denied taking issue with her version.) Visuals for the string and choral-heavy rendition include long aerial pans over the Scottish countryside, a cloaked Boyle singing in the middle of a forest and even a double rainbow! Not exactly what you'd expect from the guy who took a walk on the wild side as a member of the Velvet Underground, but pretty and oddly soothing nonetheless. Check out the video below:
