How to Get THR Cover Star Shailene Woodley's Look (Video)

The "Divergent" star's glam squad spills on how they achieved her cool, laid-back image.

If there was one consensus about how to style cover star Shailene Woodley for The Hollywood Reporter, it was definitely centered on capturing her natural beauty.

The Divergent star's glam squad had no problem beautifying her, as she stands 5-foot-8-inches tall and has flawless skin. The 22-year-old actress -- who was shot by photographer Mary Rozzi on Feb. 5 in West Hollywood -- was styled with printastic pieces, including the short leaf-patterned Lanvin dress seen on the cover of THR's March 14 issue.

"The inspiration behind today was beautiful, fresh, natural Shailene," said stylist Kris Zero. "Like the Lanvin that she wore, with leaves just kind of reflecting the nature girl." Zero added, "All the jewelries are all eco -- Monique Pean and Roseark, those are our buddies."

During the shoot, Zero also styled the eco-friendly actress in a white embroidered Antonio Berardi jumpsuit, lacy Burberry top and beaded Elie Saab jumpsuit.

To capture a "beautiful, fresh Shailene look," makeup artist Gloria Noto (who was featured in THR's 2013 Beauty Issue) said she was inspired by a "neutral '80s Duran Duran music video feel."

"Really, what I wanted to focus on was beautiful fresh skin and really great structured eyebrows," said Noto of the star's cover look.

For hairstylist Jamal Hammadi, his inspiration for the shoot was Woodley herself. "I wanted something playful that really showed you her personality, so I worked with Shailene's texture and what's trending today -- shorter lengths, movement and texture, and a great cut," said Hammadi.

Woodley noted that she enjoyed the shoot, especially working with photographer Rozzi for the first time.

"She's incredible. She values the feminine spirit, so she gave me the freedom to be myself, which doesn't always happen in a photo shoot," said the actress. "It was all very organic and authentic."
