Virgin, iPlayer reach pact

Shows including 'Doctor Who' available

LONDON -- Virgin Media's 3.4 million customers will be able to catch up on missed BBC shows via their TV sets now that the BBC's iPlayer has signed its first TV deal.

The iPlayer, which allows viewers to catch up on shows like "Doctor Who," had until now only been available on the Internet.

The seven-day catch-up service will be accessible via Virgin's existing VOD service as a standalone channel.
