'Virtuality' lead set


"New Amsterdam" star Nikolaj Coster-Waldau is staying at Fox as the star of the network's two-hour sci-fi pilot "Virtuality."

At the CW, Anne Archer has joined the new drama series "Privileged," and Laurie Metcalf has toplined another new drama series, "Easy Money."

"Virtuality," from UMS and BermanBraun, is set aboard Earth's first starship, which is equipped with advanced virtual reality modules. Coster-Waldau will play mission commander Frank Pike, a born leader.

"Privileged" (formerly "Surviving the Filthy Rich") centers on a Yale-educated woman (Joanna Garcia) who is hired to be the live-in tutor/life coach to two rich 16-year-old twin girls in Palm Beach, Fla. On the WBTV/Alloy Entertainment show, Archer, repped by APA and Kritzer/Levine/ Wilkins, will play Laurel Limoges, the twin girls' wealthy grandmother who has been raising them since their parents' death. She replaces Marsha Mason, who played the role in the pilot.

MRC's "Easy Money" revolves around a family of loan sharks and centers on the matriarch (Metcalf), who runs the biz, and her middle son. (partialdiff)
