'Walking Dead' Alum Laurie Holden to Star in Indie Thriller 'Pyewacket'
'Defiance' star Nicole Munoz, Chloe Rose and Eric Osborne also topline the project.
The Walking Dead alum Laurie Holden and Nicole Munoz (Defiance) will star in the indie feature Pyewacket, set to shoot in northern Ontario.
The Canadian film by director Adam MacDonald (Backcountry) will see Munoz play a teenage girl forced to move to a house in the woods by her unstable mother (Holden). Feeling trapped and hopeless, the young woman turns to black magic to vent her anger, only to unleash an uncontrollable terror.
Holden has a recurring role coming up on FX's The Americans.
Pyewacket also stars Chloe Rose, Eric Osborne and James McGowan. Jonathan Bronfman and Victoria Sanchez-Mandryk are producing, with Jeff Sackman, Casey Walker and Joe Sisto sharing executive producer credits.
Entertainment One's Seville International is handling international sales of the film, with U.S. rights to be shopped by the producers. Holden is repped by Gersh, Link Entertainment and Jackoway Tyerman Wertheimer Austen Mandelbaum Morris & Klein.
