Shetty moves to executive director, theatrical

NEW DELHI -- The Walt Disney Company India announced Wednesday the promotion of Swati Shetty to executive director, theatrical productions and acquisitions, Walt Disney Studios International Production (India).

In her new position, Shetty will be responsible for creative and production efforts and managing talent relationships for local projects. In her five-year stint with WDCI, Shetty has played key roles in advertising sales and content syndication.

While Disney debuted its India feature production in 2008 with animation title “Roadside Romeo,” co-produced with veteran Bollywood banner Yash Raj Films, the studio will release its first live-action production “Zokkoman” this summer, starring child actor Darsheel Safary.

Other promotions announced by WDCI MD Mahesh Samat include the promotion of Roshini Bakshi to vp, consumer products, publishing and retail. She has been with Disney for over four years and has played a critical role in building the Disney consumer products and publishing business in India.

Vijay Subramaniam has been promoted to executive director, Disney India Media Solutions and Alliances (DIMSA) responsible for identifying commercial opportunities across all the Disney businesses including TV, studios, merchandising, publishing, mobile, Internet and live events. Subramaniam was earlier instrumental in driving the ad sales function for the Disney network of television channels.
