Warner unveils 15 movie classics fest for U.K.

Fest a joint venture with Vue, Park Circus, BFI, AAM

LONDON -- The British public will be able to watch 15 movie classics on the big screen this month following a pact between Warner Bros., the British Film Institute, exhibitor Vue Cinemas, classic film distributors Park Circus and Arts Alliance Media.

Titles including "Casablanca," "Singin' in the Rain" and "The Wizard of Oz" will unspool at the inaugural Movies That Matter Film Festival.

The Warner Bros.-led initiative will see all 15 titles remastered and presented as 2k resolution digital cinema, the partners said.

The season will kick off May 12 with Michael Curtiz's "Casablanca" at 30 select Vue Cinema locations across the U.K.
