Warners chows down on 'Bite Me' comedy
EmptyWarner Bros. is sharpening its teeth for "Bite Me," a comedy spec by Tim Garrick and Scott Russell. Thunder Road's Basil Iwanyk and Andrew Lazar of Mad Chance Prods. are producing.
The logline to the high-concept idea is being kept in the vault.
Thunder Road's Mary Viola is exec producing. The deal, preemptive in nature, was for mid-six figures.
Garrick directed "The Receipt," a short film that brought him to the attention of Lazar. That in turn led the two to begin collaboration on an adaptation of "When I'm Dead, Feed the Dog" for Garrick to direct. He is working on the "Dead" script with Russell, his longtime writing partner. The duo has "Blindsided" set up at Constantin Film.
Garrick and Russell are repped by the Gotham Group. (partialdiff)
