This year's host kicked off the ceremony with a wide range of songs, from Cardi B and Maroon 5's "Girls Like You" to Dan + Shay's "Tequila."

Kelly Clarkson returned to host the 2019 Billboard Music Awards for the second year in a row, and she again opened the show with a medley of Billboard Hot 100 hits.

She jumped into the performance after a bit with Florida Georgia Line. The medley of songs included the country duo's "Meant to Be," along with "Eastside" by Benny Blanco, Khalid and Halsey; "Boo'd Up" by Ella Mai; "Girls Like You" by Maroon 5 ft. Cardi B; "The Middle" by Zedd and Maren Morris; "One Kiss" by Dua Lipa and Calvin Harris; "I Like It" by Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin; "Love Lies" by Khalid and Normani; "Tequila" by Dan + Shay; "Material Girl" by Madonna; "High Hopes" by Panic! at The Disco; "Touch My Body" by Mariah Carey; and "Wow." by Post Malone.

Clarkson also sang "Broken & Beautiful," a song from the upcoming animated film UglyDolls, later in the show.

Additional performers at this year's ceremony include the Jonas Brothers, Taylor Swift with Brendon Urie, BTS featuring Halsey, Ariana Grande, Tori Kelly, Madonna and Maluma, Khalid, and Icon Award recipient Mariah Carey.

The 2019 BBMAs are being hosted by Clarkson from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, and airing on NBC.

The Billboard Music Awards is produced by Dick Clark Productions — a division of Valence Media, the parent company of the Billboard-Hollywood Reporter Media Group.
