Super Bowl: Leslie Odom Jr. Performs "America the Beautiful"

The 'Hamilton' star took the stage during the spectacle's preshow.

Before the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles battled on the field, Hamilton star Leslie Odom Jr. kicked off Super Bowl LII with a performance of "America the Beautiful."

The actor, who starred in Lin-Manuel Miranda's Broadway hit as Aaron Burr, dressed in a patriotic varsity jacket as he sang alongside a chorus of students.

Odom's Hamilton co-stars Renee Elise Goldsberry, Phillipa Soo and Jasmine Cephas Jones performed the tune during last year's Super Bowl and received praise when they tweaked a key line in the song, singing, "And crown thy good with brotherhood — and sisterhood — from sea to shining sea."

Alicia Keys, Jennifer Hudson and Ray Charles are among the artists who have kicked off the game with a performance of "America the Beautiful" in previous years.

Justin Timberlake headlined the halftime show, while Pink performed the National Anthem.
