Watch the Trailer for Sundance Hit 'Dope' (Video)

The Sundance favorite drops into theaters on June 19.

"You go to high school in Inglewood. You think you're going to get into Harvard?"

For Malcolm (Shameik Moore), growing up in the gang-infested streets of L.A. has been hard to juggle with SAT prep and college applications, but when the '90s rap-loving geek is invited to an underground club party by a drug dealer named Dom (ASAP Rocky), his world is transformed.

At the party, Malcolm and his friends find their backpacks stuffed with drugs and a gun. The trio sets out on an adventure to return the contraband, dodging obstacles along the way in this coming-of-age film.

"I'm from a poor crime-filled neighborhood raised by a single mother. Don't know my dad, blah-blah," said Malcolm. "It's cliche."

The Rick Famuyiwa-directed film stars Tony Revolori (The Grand Budapest Hotel), Zoe Kravitz, Chanel Iman and Kiersey Clemons. It's produced and narrated by Forest Whitaker and executive produced by Sean Combs and Pharrell Williams.

Dope hits theaters June 19.
