Watch Van Halen Perform "Jump" on 'Ellen'

"This is, for us, a really big show," said David Lee Roth.

Van Halen sang on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in an episode airing on Thursday — the band's first-ever American daytime-television performance.

"We’ve never played American television before, and it was our idea that you couldn’t pick a possibly better audience than this, here!" said David Lee Roth. "This is our Ed Sullivan Show, this is James Brown and The Ed Sullivan Show. This is the Beatles. This is, for us, a really big show."

The band sang "Jump" as it promoted its upcoming tour. "It means so much to me that you all are here," said Ellen DeGeneres. "That was insane."
