WB inks off-net deals for 'Closer,' 'Trace'

Multiyear pacts run through 2011-12 season

Warner Bros. Domestic Television Distribution has closed multiyear deals for the off-network syndication launch of "The Closer" and the sale of the third syndication cycle of "Without a Trace."

"Closer" has now been sold in more than 85% of the country for a fall 2010 launch in off-network syndication, with two-year deals covering the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons. This comes after an earlier announcement that WBDTD had sold the show to the Fox Television Stations in 16 markets.

The series has now been cleared on stations owned by CBS, Raycom, Capitol, Local TV, Hearst-Argyle, Tribune, Young, LIN, Turner, Newport, Weigel, Post-Newsweek, Four Points, Meredith, Cox, Grant, Gannett, McKinnon, Freedom, ComCorp, Bonten, Barrington, Hubbard and ACME.

Also in off-net, WBDTD has sold the third syndication cycle of "Trace" to stations representing 85% of the country, renewing the hit drama series through the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons on the CBS Television Stations in 18 markets, including New York, Los Angeles and Chicago, as well as to stations owned by Sinclair, Tribune, Raycom, Meredith, Newport, Post-Newsweek, Four Points, Media General, Belo, Freedom, New Vision, Barrington, Bonten Media Group, McKinnon, Dispatch, Weigel, Journal, Allbritton, Grey, ACME and Hearst-Argyle.
