Weekend Agenda: Luxe Timepieces Take Over Rodeo Drive

The Rodeo Festival of Watches, co-sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter, will take over two blocks of the shopping mecca Oct. 10 to 13 showing off everything from historic Breguets to Hublot's Big Bang Ferrari.

Twenty premiere watchmakers will gather for the first annual Rodeo Drive Festival of Watches, a three-day showcase of new product introductions -- including Panerai's Luminor Submersible model and Van Cleef & Arpels' Papillons Extraordinary Dials -- watchmaker appearances and exhibitions.

The fest, which runs Oct. 10 to 13, kicks off Thursday night with an open house from 6 to 9 p.m. at Rodeo Drive and Brighton Way drawing together connoisseurs and collectors of fine timepieces.

Sponsored by The Hollywood Reporter among others, the festival will overtake two blocks featuring the world's watch leaders such as Breguet, Bulgari, Tourbillon, IWC, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Rolex and more. Breguet reopened its doors on Oct. 3 after an extensive renovation.

Among the exhibitions are Breguet's historic and current work in a collection called "Breguet: The Innovator, Inventor of the Tourbillon" and Harry Winston's highlight of its Premier Feathers Collection. Bulgari will also host a scotch tasting during its open house and Porsche Designa cocktail reception.
