Weinstein Co. promotes Laine Kline
He becomes executive vp of business and legal affairsLaine Kline has been promoted to executive vp of business and legal affairs for the Weinstein Co. Kline, who joined the Weinstein Co. three years ago, will continue to negotiate development, acquisition, co-productions, partnership and tax-driven agreements and financing structures.
"Over the past three years, Laine has negotiated a wide range of deals and complex transactions and has become an integral member of our business and legal affairs team," said Andrew Kramer, president, business and legal affairs for the Weinstein Co., who announced the promotion Tuesday.
Prior to joining TWC, Kline served as senior vp, business and legal affairs for the Yari Film Group, where he oversaw legal matters regarding the development, production and distribution of films and television projects. Before that, he spent three years as vp, business and legal affairs for Bristol Bay Prods. and Crusader Entertainment, divisions of the Anschutz Film Group.
Prior to Anschutz, Kline practiced entertainment law at Kenoff & Machtinger, where he represented corporate and individual clients.
