Weinstein Co. Taps Leah Holzer as Production Executive
She will help manage physical production of David O. Russell’s “The Silver Linings Playbook,” among others.
The Weinstein Co. has hired Leah Holzer as vice president of production, it was announced Monday.
Holzer will report to president of production Donna Gigliotti, in New York.
“Leah brings an attuned eye to every aspect of development and production,” said Gigliotti. “She really understands how to translate the written word to the screen and will be a strong asset for The Weinstein Company.”
In her new position, Holzer will help manage physical production of such projects as David O. Russell’s comedy The Silver Linings Playbook and Kenneth Branagh’s The Boys in the Boat, based on the nonfiction book by Daniel James Brown centered on the University of Washington’s rowing team.
Holzer worked at Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne’s production company Unique Features for three years, overseeing development of Shiver, 7th Son and Face Blind. Prior to that, she was a creative executive at New Line Cinema.
