WestEnd Films Appoints New Head of Acquisitions and Development
Former StudioCanal and See Film exec Sophie Green joins the U.K.-based sales and financing banner.
London-based sales and financing banner WestEnd Films has brought on board Sophie Green as its new head of acquisitions and development.
"I am thrilled to be joining the dynamic team at WestEnd Films," said Green, who joins after stints at See Pictures in Australia and with StudioCanal, and has worked across on acquisition and business affairs on films such as Carol, The Wind Rises and Knight of Cups.
Green, who replaces Berenice Fugard, added: "The company is busier than ever with exciting and inspiring ambitions for the future as a player that finances and sells, but also develops and produces quality commercial projects."
WestEnd, co-founded by Eve Schoukroun, Maya Amsellem and renowned producer and Capitol Films founder Sharon Harel-Cohen, has a slate of films heading to the European Film Market next month that includes animated feature The Breadwinner, produced by Cartoon Saloon in association with Angelina Jolie; Flammable Children, starring Kylie Minogue and Guy Pearce; and Una, which bowed in Toronto and stars Rooney Mara, Ben Mendelsohn and Riz Ahmed.
