WGA East taps new exec director

Veteran labor attorney succeeds Mona Mangan

The WGA East has brought aboard veteran labor attorney Lowell Peterson as the guild's new executive director.

Peterson comes from the New York firm of Meyer Suozzi English & Klein, where he has been a partner since 1995, specializing in labor issues and representing several unions, including the AFL-CIO, UAW, CWA NABET and others.

Peterson also repped laid off workers in the Enron and WorldCom bankruptcies, winning millions in severance pay. Lowell succeeds Mona Mangan, who retired after many years with the guild.
