Birchbox Man H 2014

Nick Wooster helps us navigate the holiday pop-up in NYC

Santa came early to Soho.

The first-ever Birchbox Man has popped up on the New York City shopping scene for the holidays, featuring the e-commerce outlet's signature build-your-own-box concept (with products from bespoke brands like Baxter of California, Blind Barber, Brilliant Bicycles, Anthony, Naadam Cashmere, TRNK-nyc, The White Briefs, V76 and more), plus a capsule collection of navy wool utilitarian travel bags from style icon Nick Wooster.

Why stop into the pop-up for our last-minute, male-minded buys? "A lot of guys are paying more attention to grooming and developing a unique routine that suits their needs — with that comes an appreciation for better quality products that make them feel and look better," Wooster tells Pret-a-Reporter. "Looking our best is not just for ourselves, but also a show of respect for those around us."

We took a peek inside Wooster's perfect Birchbox:

Nick Wooster Capsule Collection Zipper Case ($38): "Organization is key to smooth and stylish travel, and this case was designed to help guys pack smartly and efficiently."

Baxter of California Exfoliating Body Bar ($16): "This is a gently exfoliating bar that's great for its simplicity and quality ingredients: pumice, jojoba meal, and olive seed, plus scents of cedar and oak moss."

(MALIN + GOETZ) Sage Styling Cream ($20): "I like this cream because it provides a good hold for any style, but also keeps hair feeling soft and touchable."

Kiehl’s Oil Eliminator Deep Cleansing Exfoliating Face Wash ($22): "This face wash is ideal for keeping oily skin under control using apricot seeds and argan shells."

Davines Naturaltech Rebalancing Shampoo ($25.50): "A good hairstyle starts with healthy hair, and this shampoo takes care of your scalp with natural anti-inflammatory ingredients."

We also bugged Wooster about his ideal gift picks for the men in our lives:

For the boss: "A gift for your boss should aim to impress, and it's hard to beat a great shave set with a safety razor and badger brush. Baxter of California makes one that's top-of-the-line."

For the buddy: "I'm a big fan of Blind Barber's "The Regimen" set: It's got three essential products for a quality shave, packed in a handsome tin that's reminiscent of an old-school first aid kit."

For the boyfriend: "Ernest Supplies makes a skincare duo that's absolutely foolproof: Both the face wash and moisturizer are great for any skin type, and offer a truly satisfying experience."

Birchbox Man (at One Prince Street, corner of Prince and Bowery) is open through Dec. 28.
