'White Ribbon' producer exits X Filme

Uwe Schott will replace him as managing partner

COLOGNE, Germany -- Stefan Arndt, the lead producer on Michael Haneke's Palme d'Or winner and Golden Globe nominee "The White Ribbon," is stepping down as managing partner at his Berlin-based outfit X Filme to focus more on producing.

Veteran producer Uwe Schott, who worked with Arndt on Oskar Roehler's "Lulu and Jimi," will take over the top job at X Filme. Arndt will remain a partner in the company and will hold on to his seat on the management board.

Arndt has cleared his desk of nonproducing jobs, recently stepping down as head of the German Film Academy. Ardnt's production slate includes new films by two of X Filme's founders: Tom Tykwer's "Drei" and Dani Levy's period piece "The Ritchie Boys."

In another executive shuffle at the company, Manuela Stehr has resigned from X Filme's management board to take over running of the group's distribution arm X Verleih. She will continue to produce for X Filme on a project-by-project basis.
